preparing for labor day.jpgGetting ready for your baby’s delivery can be a nervous and anxious time. It can help to prepare a little ahead of time so that you have less to think about when your contractions start, or when your doctor wants you to start the labor process.

Maybe you’ve been thinking about adoption but haven’t decided yet if it’s right for you.  It’s never too late to choose adoption. You’re able to call us from the hospital and get started with an adoption plan right then. Whenever you’re ready to move forward with adoption, you can get started by visiting, sending us an email, or giving us a call at 1-800-923-6784.

Many women who are choosing adoption for their child feel uneasy packing their hospital bag. Your adoption professional may have tips for what you’ll need at the hospital. Go to to ask for a FREE hospital labor bag. It’s packed with some of the stuff you’ll need during labor and delivery, like deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, socks, pads, mouth wash, Chapstick, and washcloths.

Wondering what do to when you go into labor? Let your adoption professional know when your labor starts and when you leave for the hospital or when you get there.

Your adoption professional will send paperwork to the hospital staff to ensure they have your hospital preferences and desires and your wishes are followed. Give the labor nurse your adoption professional’s phone number and ask her to call them. Your adoption professional can notify the adoptive parents that you are in labor, or you may want to call them yourself. In most cases, your baby will be discharged from the hospital to the adoptive family about the same time you are released.
