Lifetime Adoption Center's Director recently appeared on ABC's morning news show, Sacramento & Company, to discuss how adoption has been impacted by the current economy. Click here to watch the interview.
Since the decline in our economy, there has been a steady increase in the number of older and married women placing a child for adoption. Lifetime has seen the number of birth mothers planning to place their babies for adoption tripled to 378 since the decline in the economy. Some women already have two or three children and say they can't afford to feed another mouth.
The good news, however, is that there hasn't been a decrease in families adopting. The CEO of Lifetime is also the author of "I Was Thinking About Adoption" which offers great information for those who want to adopt and those who want to put their children up for adoption.
