A Hospital Bag Checklist that Fits With Your Adoption Plan

Posted by Lifetime Adoption on November 22, 2013

Deciding on making an adoption plan for your baby or child can be very difficult, and you may find yourself getting more and more stressed as your due date approaches. A way to reduce the stress in your life right now is by preparing a hospital bag packing list.

When you’re packing your bags to go to hospital to deliver your baby, you can use the list below. You could save it to your Internet Favorites in your cell phone; that way you’ll have it on-hand when packing. Be sure to add things to the list that will make you more comfortable and relaxed.

Here’s the list:

  • Adoption Coordinator’s phone number
  • Phone number of the adoptive family you chose
  • Your insurance or Medicare card
  • Purse
  • Labor bag (more info on what this is later)
  • Change of clothes
  • Slippers
  • Hairbrush and something to hold your hair back

A labor bag is a specially-made bag for Lifetime birth mothers which has all of what you’ll need during your hospital stay. Included are: a tooth brush and toothpaste, soap, shampoo and conditioner for showering, socks, a hair tie, stress ball, wash cloth, and candy. If you’d like us to mail you a labor bag, please get in touch with your Adoption Coordinator by calling her at 1-800-923-6784 or by email.
