Helping Birth Moms in Need Doesn’t Have to Break the Bank

Posted by Lifetime Adoption on November 15, 2017

A great way to bless a birth mom who's created an adoption plan for her child is by donating to a non-profit organization, such as the Lifetime Adoption Foundation

The Lifetime Adoption Foundation always needs items for birth mothers. These items include everything from maternity clothing, to toiletries for labor bags, and journals to help them sort out their feelings.

There are lots of dollar-friendly ideas on how you can help out the Lifetime Adoption Foundation with this goal. Learn about the current donation needs of this non-profit organization and how you can help today!

colored-pencils-journal-book.jpgThe Lifetime Adoption Foundation currently needs colored pencils for a "matched gift package." This package is sent to birth mothers after they choose an adoptive family for an adoption match. The colored pencils are provided for a coloring book created specifically for women making an adoption plan. The coloring book is filled with encouraging and inspirational messages to help support women who are creating an adoption plan for their child.

Specifically, the Lifetime Adoption Foundation needs medium packs of colored pencils (around 10 count). These will ship best, although any donations will be gratefully accepted! We've included a link here to a colored pencil package that would work well: Crayola Colored Pencils, 12-Count, Pack of 1, Assorted Colors.

Along with the adoption coloring book and colored pencils, this matched gift package also contains a journal. Many birth mothers have found writing in a journal to be therapeutic. It allows them to put their feelings to paper as they go through what can be a painful and difficult time. Journaling is beneficial and lets them take the time to reflect on their emotions during this journey. Some birth moms also use the journal to write a note to their baby on why they chose adoption. Other birth moms find that writing in a journal is helpful for the healing process after placement.

If you'd like to help, you can mail your donations to the Lifetime Foundation, or you may donate online via PayPal. All items or funds that you donate are tax deductible! You can send the colored pencils and/or journals to:

Grass Valley, CA 95945

We'd love it if you would tell your family members, friends, and church members about the Lifetime Adoption Foundation's need, too!  If you mail the items, please make sure to include a note or mark the return address package clearly, so they know who sent it. If you'd like, the Lifetime Adoption Foundation can provide a receipt for tax purposes. Visit LifetimeFoundation.org to learn about other ways that you can help bless birth mothers.

Lifetime Adoption Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that helps children, women, and families with domestic adoption.
