The Early Stages In Your Adoption Decision

Posted by Lifetime Adoption on December 24, 2012

Shawna is an inspiration to all who know her. Her sweet demeanor and calm spirit reflect God’s love, no matter what her circumstance. As a young bride, she dreamed of having a large family. It was crushing for the young couple, when she suffered six miscarriages due to endometriosis. Shawna endured two painful operations to correct the problem. It was unsuccessful. Finally, after many discussions and heartfelt prayers, they decided to contract to adopt a baby. There were some raised eyebrows when they decided to have a party to celebrate their decision. What if they don’t get a baby? What if their plans don’t work out? Shawna responded, “I am going to praise God, because I know that adoption is in His plans for us! Some skeptics think adoption might not work out, but they don’t know my God! His plan always prevails.” Sure enough, ten months later they brought home baby Thomas. His dark brown hair and blue eyes told the whole story: if your plans align with God’s plans, then you will always be on the winning side!

Is God ready to move mountains on your behalf? Praise Him! Has he revealed in prayer that He wants you to parent through adoption? Praise Him! Praise is an act of faith and trust in our Lord and Savior.

In 2Chronicles 20:15 we learn, “Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde for the battle is not yours but God’s. Tomorrow go down against them…. You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf… and all Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before the Lord, worshiping the Lord.” Praise Him before the victory!

Doing the right things, in the early stages of adoption is crucial to success and sincere worship should be first on the list! Praising God shows you are letting the Lord fight your battle for you. It will strengthen and give you joy at every turn.

Praise honors our Heavenly Father and exalts Him. Focus not on your circumstances. Rather, look beyond the cross to the ultimate victory of our Lord. Even before his crucifixion, Jesus had his disciples sing hymns and worship. Jesus knew that the battle would be won. Trust that God will go to war on your behalf. Your dream of becoming a parent will be fulfilled, so praise Him and thank Him now!
