Music Soothes the Soul

Posted by Lifetime Adoption on November 1, 2012

Music is capable of bringing joy and soothing the weary soul. As a parent, I have found that Rafi gets my kids excited, while classical music calms them down. Rock music can cause angst in the atmosphere and Christian hymns create a peaceful mood. Music has a profound impact on our emotions and our spiritual wellness.

Pastor Perry Stone explains how music can lift the veil of oppression in a place, if it contains words of praise and worship. The Word of God is just as powerful in music form as in spoken word. In Hebrews 4:12 we learn, “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, joints and of marrow, and discerning thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Hotel rooms are filled with people coming and going every day. Some have hearts for God, yet many others are living lives separate from God. They carry the darkness of sin and evil thoughts into the places they frequent. If you have ever walked into a hotel room and felt the oppression of darkness in that place, you know it is real! There is good news! God can overcome all things.

Try bringing an iPod (filled with uplifting Christian music) on your next vacation or business trip. Play the music quietly, while you and the family go out to dinner. When you get back, the room should feel peaceful. I have tried it and it really does work! The music can also work to lull your little ones peacefully to sleep in a strange place.
