A Care Package For Your Birth Mom

Posted by Lifetime Adoption on December 3, 2012

For those parents out there that are no longer waiting; this is for you. When you look back on the scope of your life, what kind of presents have you received? Are there any that still give you joy? Do you still refer to them and remember the giver? For most of you, the most profound gift would be the selfless act of love from your child’s birth mother.

Many of these wonderful women continue to struggle financially in their lives. Some are working on raising a family. The holidays are a time for looking back and assessing past choices. Their birth children are in the forefront of their minds. She is thinking about you. Let her know that you are thinking about her with a care package.

If your heart gives you the go-head, why not put together a care package for your child’s birth mother, this winter? It would be beautifully unexpected and entirely grace-filled. She will be delighted to know that you are thinking of her and are thankful for her generous spirit. Here are some ideas you might want to include in her care package:

  1. A bright wool scarf, mittens and hat
  2. Fuzzy socks
  3. Candy
  4. Magazines or books
  5. Makeup and/or lotions
  6. Picture and updates on your child
  7. A letter from your child
  8. A gift card to Target or Walmart
  9. A flashlight
  10. A stationary set with pens
  11. Homemade cookies
  12. Herbal tea bags
  13. A Starbucks Card
  14. A notebook or calendar
  15. A soft robe

Heartfelt gifts can lift the spirits of the gift giver and receiver alike. Let your heart be light this holiday season, honor your birth mother with a care package, shower her with your love and kindness. It will remind you of what is truly important and let her know you care.
