Adoption Challenges? Seek God First

Posted by Mardie Caldwell on February 2, 2015

woman_talking_to_parentsHave you found that when you speak with people about adoption, they all have different opinions and attitudes? And just when you think you’ve heard it all, the next one is a surprise?

Ask God for the courage to stand up to anyone with negative or challenging attitudes regarding your adoption decision. Pray and answer with grace, gentleness, and wisdom.  You can do it with God’s help.

Feeling a little weak in that area? We’ve all noticed that the quality of reception on our cell phones is spotty if we aren't in the right position. The same is true with us. We must be positioned correctly in order to be connected and clearly hear God speak.  If that is an area you’ve let slip, spend some time in scripture, reading and meditating on it. Journal about it. And make it a point to put your relationship with your Heavenly Father back into an active part of your life.  He wants to be a part of your adoption.

If you were called to adoption, God will equip you with the tools and wisdom to the finish. Then move forward with the faith, it's in His timing and with His guidance. As Winston Churchhill so profoundly stated "Never, never give up!"

P.S. Remember, the best adoptions are not microwaved, but marinated. This is your time of preparing and seeking wisdom to become the best parent. It's with daily faith and patience you'll step out each day while your adoption marinates. Blessings!
