"I need to adopt out my toddler!"

Posted by Lifetime Adoption on March 27, 2018

"toddler-adoption.jpgI'm a single mom to a two-year-old girl. Ever since she was born, it's been a struggle to pay bills and make sure she has everything she needs. I don't have any support from my parents, who stopped talking to me once I got pregnant. And her dad up and disappeared when he learned I was pregnant.

I only see my daughter when I'm taking her to daycare in the morning on the bus. I want her to have better than this. It breaks my heart to have to admit this, but I think I need to adopt out my toddler!"

Know that you're not alone: we often hear from moms of older children, contacting us for adoption info. Their reasons for looking into adoption at this point vary. Many have other kids in the house and not having enough money is making it impossible to care for them.

If you're thinking about adoption, it means that you love your child so much that you want the very best for them no matter what. Adoption might be the answer to your situation.

We hear from plenty of moms of toddlers at Lifetime. Some contact us because they're in an abusive situation and can’t guarantee a safe place for their child. They share with us that it seems like CPS might step in and remove their child, so adoption is definitely a better option. With open adoption, you can choose your child's parents and stay in touch in the future. Your child won't end up getting lost in the foster care system.

Sometimes jail time is a reality for the moms we talk to. Instead of letting the courts decide where her child goes, she takes action to find a good home for her child while she still has this option. These reasons (and many others) are why parents look into adoption for their child.

It's totally a myth that people only want to adopt babies.  Lifetime has so many loving adoptive families who are interested in adopting a toddler, preschool-aged child, or a child up to seven years old. Click to check out all the adoptive couples hoping to adopt a child.

Open adoption is a great option for a child. It allows you to stay a part of their lives, and to provide a safe and loving adoptive home for them.

When you begin the open adoption process look through the couples who are interested in adopting a child. Being able to choose the family for your child is one of the biggest benefits to open adoption. You can decide how much contact you’d like to have in the future. It can range from emails and social media posts to regular visits.
