Today, Lifetime Adoption is sharing another adoptive couple's story in our blog series “Then and Now.” Our Lifetime adoptive family today is Tommy and Kaycee from Connecticut.
As they started their adoption journey with Lifetime, they shared "We've always considered adoption, and believed we would adopt at some point. We believe it is important, and part of our responsibility as Christians is to take care of the children!"
Read on to learn about their journey to adoption, as well as their cherished experiences and inspirations!
In their adoption profile for birth mothers to learn more about them, Tommy and Kaycee wrote,
"We are an active Christian couple who are best friends. We have always felt called to adopt, and have been talking about adoption ever since we started dating. We cannot wait to become first time parents! We have been together for ten years and married for five. One of our favorite past times is playing board games with family and friends. We can't wait to share our love, family traditions, and faith with our future child or children!
We live in a quiet, family oriented suburb of Connecticut. We are minutes from the beach, and love to relax on the sand in the summer time. Our home is a three bedroom, one and a half bath house that was recently remodeled. We love our large kitchen and absolutely adore our huge back yard. We call it our “forest". It is perfect for the adventures we imagine having with our children! Plus, we are only an hour away from NYC by train. We love to take the train into the city to watch a musical, go to museums, and enjoy a nice dinner!"
Through infant adoption, Tommy and Kaycee were blessed to adopt a baby boy, Cooper, just last month!
The thrilled new adoptive parents emailed us:
"Words cannot express how thankful we are for the gift you gave us of our amazing son! Cooper is such a sweetheart, and we are so blessed to be his parents! Thank you for the support and encouragement you provided us during the wait.
Chrissy, we really appreciate how quickly you would respond to any questions and the support you gave us emotionally! We couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you for being such an important piece of one of the best things to ever happen to us!
Natalie, thank you for the support and encouragement you gave us during our wait. We will be forever grateful for all you did!"
