We're blessed to be sharing another adoptive couple's heartwarming adoption story in our blog series "Then and Now." Our Lifetime adoptive family today is Chris and Rianna from Minnesota.
As they started their adoption journey with Lifetime, they shared, "We talked before marriage about the possibility of adopting. After much conversation and prayer, arrived at the conclusion that adoption was the right path for us.
We are excited to begin growing our family and know that family is the group of people you love, not necessarily the group of people you share genes with!"
In their adoption profile, Chris and Rianna wrote, "We are an active young couple excited to become first-time parents through adoption. We can't wait to share our love of God, a wonderful extended family and many family traditions with a baby. Thank you for letting us introduce ourselves, and we look forward to learning more about you!
We are an energetic, faith-driven, positive couple. We met over 10 years ago and fate never seemed to let us get too far from each other. We have been together for over 6 years.
Our families are very important to us and are very supportive of us and adoption. Rianna’s mother lives within 2 hours from our home. Christopher’s mother, sister and two young nephews live just blocks away. We are a very family-centered couple, and regularly spend vacations and holidays with the people in our lives who can’t wait to welcome another child to the family.
Our faith is extraordinarily important in our lives. We are active members at an Episcopal parish minutes away from our house. We hope to raise our child in a Christ-centered life!"
Through Lifetime, Chris and Rianna joyfully welcomed a baby girl, Zoe, into their home just a few months ago!
The happy new parents Chris and Rianna emailed us:
"While we knew we had the best support team out there with Lifetime, I think we didn’t fully realize how lucky we were to have had you all until we announced Zoe was a member of our family.
So many emotions go into the adoption journey, but the one thing we never felt through the entire process was alone. No matter the circumstance, someone from Lifetime was always there to help, whether it was navigating the “Which pictures are best for profiles” stage or the “How do I navigate the hospital” stage.
Even during the times where there just was no news, someone was always checking in just to make sure we were still doing okay and helping us use the “wait time” to be extra prepared for the day that match came.
Thank you Lifetime, for everyone and everything that went into making Zoe a part of our family!
